Client: Leadership Tallahassee
Challenge: Leadership Tallahassee, a prestigious civic leadership program affiliated with the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce, sought to attract a diverse and competitive pool of applicants for its 43rd class (LT 43). With only 40 available spots, the organization needed a strong digital outreach campaign to increase awareness, encourage applications, and generate enthusiasm among prospective participants across sectors and backgrounds.
Implementation: Lauren Helm PR was engaged to lead a targeted social media campaign designed to boost recruitment for LT 43. Working closely with the LT Recruitment Chair, Lauren developed a content calendar aligned with key application deadlines and messaging priorities. She coordinated video testimonials from alumni to showcase the program’s impact, crafted high-conversion captions with clear calls to action, and created a series of dynamic Instagram and Facebook reels that reflected the energy and diversity of the program.
The campaign focused on elevating authentic voices from previous classes while simplifying the path to apply, leveraging emotional storytelling and community pride to drive engagement and submissions.
Results: The campaign generated strong interest and momentum, resulting in 86 applications—more than double the number of available class spots—and over $4,000 collected in application fees. The applicant pool consisted of 22 men and 64 women from a variety of professional and civic backgrounds. The high caliber of candidates made the Selection Committee’s job a challenge, reinforcing the success of the campaign in reaching motivated, qualified individuals.
